I have been practising as a therapist for around 9 years now and during that time, I’ve done a number of courses both online and in person. The Precision Hypnosis course has to be one of the best courses I’ve done so far and is very different to many of the other online or distance learning courses available.

The quality and quantity of information provided, variety of subjects covered, support, advice and interaction make it very interesting and informative, whilst being enjoyable too. I liked the way that although it was an online course, there are real people behind it as well as real feedback and interaction. Although I was away for the live Q&A calls, I listened to them afterwards and found those really useful too. Many online courses are quite faceless and impersonal, so I think the contact and interaction aspects of this (and other Uncommon Knowledge courses) is what sets it apart.

I’ve always believed that you learn something new everyday, no matter whether you’re newly qualified or experienced. I certainly learned some really useful things from this course and would definitely recommend it.

I have loved this course, thank you so much. It has been really engaging and accessible. I feel much more confident and adventurous and am beginning now to utilise some of my new learning in practice. I will keep going back into the material as it is so helpful to revisit and get a bit more each time!

Thank you so much for a very informative, useful, and well-constructed course. This is my first online learning experience and I can’t praise it enough. It’s been so engaging that I almost feel I’ve attended an actual ‘live’ course. I’ve really valued your responses to my questions through the message boards and the Q&A sessions have added that extra personal touch.

I feel that my skills as a clinical hypnotherapist have been greatly enhanced by the Precision Hypnosis course and I’ve been so impressed that I’ve also signed up for the Stop Smoking course (which is also living up to expectation).

Precision Hypnosis and the previous course that I completed, Uncommon Hypnosis, have really done wonders for me both as a person and as a hypnotist. I feel much better about life; it’s as if I gained some insight which makes me philosophical and at ease with the world (if that is possible!). Precision Hypnosis taught me so much about why people are the way they are, that I now walk about observing certain types and know exactly what could be done to alleviate their fears, phobias and unwanted habits. The best way I can say a big ‘thank you’ to Uncommon Knowledge is to take another of their courses, which of course I will do in the near future. Thanks to Mark and the team for a quality product of the highest professional standard.

I’m VERY happy you allow non-therapists to take this class because it has helped greatly in many areas of life. I volunteer for hospice and it is astonishing how powerful hypnotic language can be … for the patient and family members. Hypnotic language was also very useful with neighbors who didn’t want to cut down their tree that was hit by lightning and about to fall into our home! (Haha, they just cut it down! Nothing like hypnotic language in an email!) Lastly, I have seen a therapist or two over the years and should I ever feel the need to pursue that path again, I would insist on a therapist who knows how to use hypnosis.

I love the Uncommon Hypnotherapy course. I really like how Mark and Roger have structured the program, with lots of reading material, simple and easy to understand explanations, and very useful video demonstrations. What I like most about them is that there are no frills, I find them to be very integrous and the expertise in their work and intent comes across. I have recommended their courses to many… Absolutely worth it.

“I was certified in 2000 by a school that taught the “National Guild of Hypnotists” (NGH) agenda. I enjoyed the classes but felt that much of the training was too close to stage hypnotist techniques.

“During one class, the guest instructor used a different approach — a permissive induction, similar to the techniques you teach. I fell into a much deeper trance than I had when our regular instructors used a more authoritarian approach. Instead of feeling badgered and intimidated into a trance, this guest instructor seduced me into a trance. In fact, I felt myself going so deeply that I pulled back a bit, apprehensive about unchartered territory.

“At the end of the entire course, even though I had a certificate in hand that said I was a certified hypnotherapist, I knew that my training had just begun. Since then, I’ve focused my study on those “Eriksonian” techniques that my school merely touched upon but intrigued me the most.

“My never-ending quest brought me to your online school via your sister site– hypnosisdownloads.com. (I had already found that site to be a wealth of information.) I’ve really enjoyed your course — Mark and Jill are great teachers. You’ve helped me understand the thought and reasons behind the tools and techniques — not just what to do, but why.

“I’ll still be learning from your study materials for some time, as I go over this information again and again. I like your multi-media approach to teaching — videos, audio files, written materials. In particular, I think the “Hypnosis Unwrapped” DVDs were the cornerstone of the course.

“Much of the other materials emphasized and expanded on these videos. Actually being able to watch Jill and Mark teach classes, plus intros and summaries from Roger, was worth the price of the course.”

I wanted to share an amazing experience I’ve had with the things I’ve learned from Precision Hypnosis and Uncommon Knowledge. Four weeks ago, I began discussing smoking with a friend – we both smoked and neither of us was planning on quitting just yet. Without consciously thinking about what I was doing, I found myself using so many of the tips and techniques I’ve found here – referring to smoking as “it” throughout, we likened it to abusive relationships from our pasts and how its “voice” demands that we stop whatever we’re doing and tend to its “needs,” making numerous connections to its dishonesty, pretending to be comforting us, its selfishness and how it only demands our attention when it needs something from us – after about an hour, the following conversation ensued:

Friend: But isn’t it strange how acceptable it is? At work, I’ll say, “I’m just going outside for a cigarette” and everyone just says “OK.”

Me: Think how much like a mental illness smoking actually is – that “voice” in your head telling you what you have to do, right now, to placate it. Can you imagine being at work and saying, “Oh, wait, the voice in my head is talking to me again – I’m just going to pop outside for five minutes and harm myself.” Your workmates would freak.

Friend: I just realised something else- we were talking about it being like (ex) taking everything from me and giving nothing in return, even to the point of stealing from me – it isn’t just stealing from me … it’s stealing from the children I haven’t even had yet.

Me: It’s like when (ex) moved in – he never paid rent or any bills, he made such a mess and never cleaned up … it started off seeming like a friend and moved into the spare room (in our head)- it was only supposed to be temporary, but it’s been squatting there ever since, and we’re paying for it, constantly cleaning up after it, while it sits there and demands our time and money, and convinces us we can’t live without it.

Friend: It’s moving out right now. I’m taking my spare room back.

    Me: me too.

Neither of us has had a cigarette since. When we call each other, we refer to ourselves as being “squatter free.”

I had no intention of practicing hypnosis that day (although we were discussing the course as part of the smoking discussion) and I can assure you neither of us believed ourselves to be anywhere near “ready” to quit. But the incredible thing is, none of the triggers and circumstances that would normally have accompanied the quitting process (we’ve both stopped before) have occurred – there’s no sense of something missing after a meal, or when having a glass of wine. The entire “thinking like a smoker” process was gone by the end of the conversation. Neither of us has felt any need to “fill the space” with eating (or anything else) because the only “space” is the spare room in our minds, which each of us decided to use for something else at the point we moved the squatter out. More than anything, we both know, deep down, that this is permanent.

Just wanted you to know how successful my accidental therapy session was for both of us.

“I thoroughly enjoyed the Hypnosis Unwrapped Course as it felt like gaps were filled in and it was comforting and satisfying having the missing pieces come together, just like completing that puzzle and finding those last bits. I guess I am… well I know I am, totally inspired by all the teaching you all impart at UNK and now know I can step into my future with confidence. Thank-you all so much :-)”

I am a practicing Hypnotherapist, and was looking for some further insights, even tools, that I may not be using currently. My hope was that I would breathe new life into my practice, and this course did not disappoint! It was everything and more that I expected. The information is delivered in a clear, concise way, with enough repetition to help cement the learning process. I really appreciated the quizzes at the end of the chapters. I found them to be well thought-out and designed to truly test whether or not the concepts taught had been understood and assimilated. I would highly recommend this course to all Hypnotherapists wanting to improve or add to their skills!
