A great course, presented by Mark and his team, using their years of experience to guide both counsellor and client through the difficulties of working with depression. The course is full of useful, practical information, insights and can change the way you and your clients view and live with depression. Sharing the cycle of depression with my clients has really helped them to understand what’s going on for themselves; it’s been a real breakthrough. They then become eager to try and break that cycle. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

I completed the Uncommon Psychotherapy course in January 2026. I am very glad I completed it then, as in February 2026 I was impacted strongly both professionally and personally by a horrific, tragic event in my small town. I continued to counsel through the first week after the event, fueled by adrenaline and loyalty to my clients, and I would say that a reason I could continue was that my nervous system was in very good shape due to having just completed the Uncommon Psychotherapy course. I benefited from the course as both a training to help others but also as an emotional regulator for myself. Learning and implementing techniques to meet my needs is a very important way for me to continue to be able to work to help others. A week after the event, my brain froze (as I was expecting!) and I took a week off. I was then able to implement techniques for recovery in addition to seeking professional help from my clinical supervisor and returned to counselling the following week.

This really appealed to my scientific background and I appreciate the knowledge gathered by this team. I find my clients enjoy the process and the skills they gain from it and can enjoy this process effortlessly – especially useful for clients who are weighed down by depression or in the tiresome busy place of anxiety. Some clients can gain benefit just being involved and I notice then more willingness to trust a process and learn ways to move forward and progress. Looking forward to working with more clients in this way.

There is such a gold mine of information in UPTV, it’s hard to know where to start! My favorite area is MarkBot, where I can get quick and detailed answers to any therapeutic question. UPTV has increased my self-confidence in sessions. Seeing Mark use the various techniques on clients enabled me to see real-life issues solved in sometimes just one or a few sessions!

Uncommon Practitioners TV gave me insight into real therapy sessions and broke them down so I could fully understand and integrate what I learned. This was incredibly helpful for me in gaining the confidence I needed in approaching sessions as a new practitioner. I love the depth of all the resources and the responsiveness of the organization as well. As a new subscriber, I was surprised to find I had access to more learning than I expected. I feel supported at UPTV without feeling pushed to always purchase something else. For me, joining was a great decision.

To me it is like a full course that I can be on at any time I feel or need to be – and more so to be able to select specific themes I need now and not be on a course for CPD purposes mainly – irrespective of the specific need I have. So often CPD workshops are visited to maintain my registration – but the course context is not really what I was hoping for. Here I can really select. What is even more valuable is that I can revisit it again and again – to become more confident in my work.

Uncommon Psychotherapy has been so helpful to me and I plan to sign up for all of Mark’s courses. I’m beyond grateful to you for all of the resources, including blog posts, UPTV, books, etc. It’s a truly incredible amount of quality information and I’ve learned so much. Honestly, it’s all helped me become a better person and I feel so happy to enter into therapy sessions with even just a small slice of Mark’s knowledge available to me. Thank you!

I have only been using UPTV for about a short time but I have already found value in the recorded sessions. I am a counsellor for women, children, and youth who have experienced abuse and violence.
UPTV has acted as a refresher for some of the techniques I learnt on the Uncommon Hypnotherapy course and given them a fully contextualized setting so the learning goes deeper. It is also an Aladdin’s cave of new learning, and I’m especially intrigued to explore the language style used by Mark when he has clients in trance.
I have already used some of the new learning. For example, panic attacks were reframed in one session as “inappropriate exercise reactions”; I was able to use that with a client a few days later and she was keen to explore that, as it takes any shame out of the symptoms.
I find it to be an additional support on top of my clinical supervision.
Thank you.

This course offers an approach to the treatment of depression that is clear and easy to understand. The material included in the course should be compulsory reading for all mainstream prescribers and psychotherapists, as it offers a credible alternative to the default SSRI first line treatment approach. I have noticed that in most cases, depression sufferers have never been given an explanation that is easy to understand, much less helpful to them in any way. Having done the course, just the simple process of talking them through the depression cycle creates a new and positive awareness.

The Rewind course has given me a really powerful tool that enabled me to help two clients get rid of a range of symptoms (including flashbacks) in just one session. It works like magic when you learn to apply this simple and effective technique. And the marketing materials I got are truly useful. I really appreciate this course.
